Jač Nebula

The Jač (yah-ch) nebula is the closest major nebula to Home, 418 lightyears away with a rough center in Sector T167-Y289-Z252 and an approximate diameter of 2.2 lightyears. It is a stellar emission nebula, and like all such structures its emission spectrum indicates a notable concentration of nebula variants. The emission lines of these variants do not align with any others known, indicating that the formation process of these nebulae create unique variants that decay into standard elements within several tens of thousand years.

The Jač nebula is expected to be the first major nebula to eventually be reached, with anticipation surrounding the harvest and study of the unique resources that may be found there. At it’s distance of 418 lightyears it is still well beyond reach of current warp drive technology.
