Home System

The Home system contains the planet Home, the origin of humanity and all of its associated life. The planet has one natural satellite named Moon. The parent star of the system is a class G2V star named Sun; eight other planets orbit Sun including Jovia, a massive gas giant world and the first gas giant in the system.

Though humanity has spread far from their homeworld, the legacy of the planet lives on. The entire sphere of human civilization is centered on the Home system; locations and regions of space are commonly referred to in distances from Home as a universal reference point, and Home is one of the only star systems where its common name comes from a planet in the system rather than the star(s). Planetary properties derived from Home and other bodies in the system (Jovia in particular) are commonly used as units to describe alien planets.

Before the invention of the warp drive, humanity colonized several of the worlds and orbital regions throughout the system, as well as sent orbiters and probes to almost every large mass body.
